Johanna Lönngren - Emotions in Engineering Education: The emergence of a new field of research…
Dear SEFI Community,
We would like to invite you to participate in a research study about barriers to participating and attending SEFI conferences. This survey is a project of the SEFI Diversity Equity and Inclusion SIG and will take approximately 7-10 minutes of your time.
Why should you complete this questionnaire?
This study is not just an academic endeavour; it is about addressing systemic inequalities. Addressing such disparities is an ethical imperative to ensure that academic knowledge production is inclusive and representative of diverse voices. While the study seeks to understand barriers, the data will be applied to making changes for SEFI 2024.
We know that some of these questions are pretty personal – but we also know that these factors can exert an important influence on your experience with the academic community.
Who is invited to participate in this study?
All SEFI members are invited to participate, those who attended SEFI 2022, 2023 and those who did not. In order to anchor this survey in recent contexts, we mostly ask about experiences at SEFI 2022 and 2023.
Clicking on the survey link will also give you access to the information sheet. If you have any questions or require further information, please do contact us. More information and motivation about the survey and project will also be discussed during the SEFI@work webinar on 11 December.
This research project has been approved by the EPFL Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC No 082-2023) and is supervised by Dr. Siara Isaac (siara.isaac@epfl.ch).
