How was the SEFI@Work session with the Best papers of SEFI2021?
by Tinne de Laet, chair of SIG on Engineering Education Research
On December, 7th the SEFI SIG on Engineering Education Research organized an online SEFI@Work session, around the best papers of the SEFI 2021 conference. In the seminar the authors of the best research paper, best concept paper, best short paper and the winner of the Susanne Ihsen award on diversity and inclusiveness got the floor. They not only presented their SEFI work but also used the opportunity to talk about the follow-up research and initiatives and explore new ideas.
33 participants used the session as an opportunity to interact to get familiar with the latest research and development within Engineering Education and to discuss with the authors and other attendees. To honour the spirit of the friendly SEFI community we closed the session with a networking opportunity where both old-SEFI-friends could reconnect to each other and new-SEFI-friends could experience the real SEFI atmosphere.
For everyone who want to explore more about the SEFI 2021 papers, you can look at the session recording and dig deeper in the online Proceedings of the SEFI 2021 conference.
What’s next?
In 2022 the SEFI SIG on Engineering Education Research will organize new SEFI@Work sessions focusing on research methods in Engineering Education Research. These session will give the floor to a researcher that will share a high-impact publication with solid methodological foundations, and we will challenge them to share their experiences with the applied methods in order to support the research within our SEFI community. It is a pleasure that we can announce that the first speaker will be Anita Campbell and colleagues, sharing their experience of systematic literature reviews through their own literature review on growth mindsets.
Looking forward to meeting you there!
