Global GEDC Industry Forum
3-6 July 2019 – Fontainebleau, FR. The second edition of this meeting dedicated to universities and industrial companies followed the last year’s recipe of success: interactivity and originality.
This year the topic was: ”Developing the new generation of engineering experts and leaders.“
The Forum offered examples of succesful university-business cooperation for stimulation ghte innovation from the university of Monterrey, Merinova and Airbus. Furthermore the theme of social responsibility of engineers was introduced by Andrew Hogg from the company Total, who presented a real life ethical problem.
The session about competencies for the future brought together the UiPath and l’école42 which was followed by a brainstorming on the following topics related to university-business cooperation:
-Evaluation of competencies received through PBL
-Spontaneous communication
-Training of engineering leaders
-Promotion and evaluation of failure
-Digital skills in engineering education
– Training socially conscious engineers
GEDC has decided to promote the topic of digital skills by including the certification of engineering education.
